Community Life Commission
This standing committee of the Parish Pastoral Council’s vision is to promote and enhance a strong STM community spirit. It’s mission is to create feelings of welcome, belonging, and parish ownership; promote the growth of social interaction ministries; form a communication network for parish social groups; and enliven the church by energizing families and individuals of every capability, age, and residence, to support and participate in the community life of STM. The commission actively works with activities and ministries under its umbrella to accomplish this mission.
Fun bowling in a non-competitive atmosphere. Bowl alternate Friday nights, Fall through Winter at the Super Bowl. A great opportunity to meet new parishioners of all ages.
Low to mid-range aerobic coed class open to all adults in the STM community and friends. Meets Monday and Wednesday, 7-8 PM.
This ministry involves the social events of the parish involving all ages. Halloween Party, spaghetti dinner, Thanksgiving feast, sledding party, hayrides, Easter party, Valentine dinner and Fellowship Sundays are a few of the social events sponsored.
Meetings October through May, offer socialization and the group offers parish help as needed.
Mom’s group is a time for fellowship, prayer, and connecting with other Christian mothers in our parish. Monthly meetings (during the school year) are held in the Youth Ministry Room from 8:30 – 10:00AM on Thursdays. Children are welcome to come or childcare can be arranged by calling me.
Offers a personal welcome to new parishioners by organizing Newcomer Breakfasts three times per year, delivering a parish gift and information folder to each newcomer, and serving as a resource that matches new members’ needs and interests with parish services and opportunities.
Scouting works with boys and girls in first through fifth grades. It aims to help young children through organized activities which: develop character, encourage spiritual growth, build self-confidence and personal achievement and improve understanding within the family.
Serves the senior citizens of the parish. On the first Thursday of the month (October through May, except January), they begin with 11:30 AM mass followed by a luncheon. Fall and spring bus trips are sometimes taken.
